As you enter The City of Walker you'll notice signs that read, "Welcome to the City of Walker Sister City of Colac, Australia" a family friendly community.
Did you know it was more then just a sign at the edge of the city?
The City of Walker has been sister cities with Colac, Australia since 1993. Since that time, we have sent high school ambassadors to Australia on an exchange trip seven times. That is over a hundred young people through the corresponding, preparation, and travel to our sister city whose lives have been changed forever.
The City of Walker is a member of Sister Cities International, which has grown to over 2,100 communities in 122 different countries. SCI mission is to
"Promote peace through mutual respect, understanding & cooperation-one individual, and one community at a time."
