Friendship Quilt
March of 2004 marked the eleventh consecutive
year for The Walker/Colac Student Exchange Program. Every exchange does
a gift exchange between cities. Many unique gifts have been given in the
past from both cities such as artwork and clocks. In 2004 our students
with help from some of our previous and present families that have been
involved in our exchange sent a very distinctive, unique gift for our
sister city, Colac. A "Friendship Quilt" was made and put together with
care, love and friendship for our sister city Colac and now hangs in the
local government building in Colac for all to see and enjoy. Click
on the individual quilt squares below to view a large image of that
quilt.
All of our community partners such as local business big and small
and all of our citizens make this program possible. Generous support
over the years has made many dreams a reality and has encouraged world
peace and unity. This, for many youth in our area, has been an
opportunity of a lifetime. Your contributions and support mean so much
to all involved and has help enriched so many lives.
The City of Walker's International Relations Committee, which hosts
this program, would like to thank all that have supported and have been
involved in our exchange and hope your support continues.
