Cathy Vander Meulen |
Cathy Vander Meulen has been employed
in local government for over 25 years. Of those twenty-five years,
eighteen of them have been with the City of Walker. Prior to her
promotion to the City Manager’s position in January of 2004, Cathy
held the positions of Deputy Assessor, Planning Director, and
Assistant City Manager. Cathy received her Master’s of Public
Administration from Grand Valley State University, and was inducted
into the National Honor Society for Public Officials on April 28,
1999. She also holds a State of Michigan Property Assessment
Certification as a Level III Assessor.
Cathy is active in a number of professional
organizations, including the West Michigan Local Gov Management
Association (Past President), International City Manager’s
Association, Michigan Local Government Manager’s Association. She
is also a Board member on the Kenowa Hills Education Foundation, as
well as a Walker Lion’s Club member.
Cathy and her husband Gary reside in the City of Walker. In her
spare time, Cathy enjoys traveling with her husband and friends, and
spending time with her family at the cottage. |
