Flood Insurance

In 1997, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) conducted the Flood Insurance Study in Kent County.  The Study assisted in determining the administrative requirements of the National Flood Insurance Act of 1973, as well as updating floodplain regulation as part of the Regular Phase of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).  The flood data collected throughout Kent County provided better information in order to determine flood insurance rates.
