Mayor Pro Tem Barbara Holt

Commissioner Barbara HoltI was first elected in 1995 and reelected in 1999, 2003, and 2007. I live in and represent Walker’s Second Ward.

I have been married to my husband Randy Holt for 35 years. We have three married children and three grandchildren. I work, part time, as a construction coordinator for FHC, a mechanical contracting company in Wyoming, Michigan.

I became interested in local government when I saw, what appeared to be, uncontrolled growth and development near my home. I ran for elected office to learn more about the process and try to positively impact quality of life in the entire city. I love working in government and problem solving. I am passionate about environmental issues and my focus is on how we use and protect the land. The City of Walker is a wonderful place to live, work, raise children and grow old. I take very seriously my obligation to protect the legacy of our city and to pass it on to future generations. I believe we have to work hard every day to sustain excellence in our community.
