Mark Huizenga
Mark
Huizenga was born in Grand Rapids and grew up in South Walker. Mark
received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Calvin
College and Master’s Degree in Management from Aquinas College. Mark is
a self-employed health care consultant. His consulting practice focuses
on process improvement and strategic planning. His clients are both
physician practices and hospitals throughout the United States.
Prior to his election to the City Commission, Mark was an appointed
member of the Walker Planning Commission where he served for six years.
Mark has served Deacon and as an Elder at his church, LaGrave CRC.
Mark serves on various community boards and committees and is currently
the board chair with Health Development International. Mark also
participates on the Calvin College Business Alliance and serves as the
Treasurer for the Asthma Network of West Michigan. Mark has lectured on
health management topics in Albania, Honduras, India and the United Arab
Emirates.
Mark, his wife Kris and their three children have lived in South
Walker since 2002.
