Commissioner Al Parent

Commissioner Al ParentAl Parent has been a 1st Ward City Commissioner since 1993. Over his tenure, Al has served on and been involved with many City committees.

One of the most important committees he has served on is the Walker Planning Commission. This committee is responsible for reviewing various types of development, including commercial and industrial plans, bringing with it many new jobs and revenue. Al has served on the Planning Commission for several years and participated in the development of the new Standale Downtown Zoning Ordinance.

Commissioner Parent has always been supportive of having the best equipment for our public safety departments. He was instrumental in ensuring that push bumpers were installed on all of the City’s police cruisers to increase safety for our officers, and to make the cruisers more effective in assisting motorists.

Al owns and operates the Silver Bullet hair salon and barbershop on Alpine. This has provided Al with management experience which has been helpful in his Commission responsibilities.

Al has been a Walker resident for over 30 years, and resides with his wife Gail and their dog Roxy in Alpine Estates. Together, Al and Gail have five children and six wonderful grandchildren.
