Commissioner Steve Versluis

Commissioner Versluis Commissioner Versluis has served on the Walker City Commission since 1987.  Representing the 3rd Ward of the city has brought him numerous opportunities for involvement.  He serves on the Mineral Mining Board, Pedestrian Trail Committee, Building Committee, and the Personnel Committee.  He has also been a member of the Planning Commission for 12 years.

Steve is married to Julie and they have one son, Adam.  He has lived in Walker all his life and still spends summers working the rich soil of the family farm.  Commissioner Versluis is employed at Jenison High School where he has taught history for 25 years.  His personal philosophy is that one's best effort is one's best reward.
