City Commission Staff Meeting Minutes

COMMISSION STAFF MEETING
MINUTES – APRIL 20, 2009

Mayor Pro Tem Holt called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Present: Mayor Pro-tem Barb Holt, Commissioners: Al Parent, Dan Kent, and Chuck Deschaine. Absent: Cyndy Stek and Steve Versluis.

Also Present: City Manager Cathy Vander Meulen and Assistant City Manager Darrel Schmalzel.

Gary Carey, Historical Commission gave an update on the progress of the Edison House.

The brochure has been completed, and is being distributed. They are working on an announcement for the June newsletter.

The Historical Commission took a field trip to visit the Lowell Museum.

They are working on securing some dates at Woody’s to sponsor Texas Hold-em events to raise money for the Edison House improvements.

The Commission has two GVSU interns that will be working with them to help write grants.

City Manager Vander Meulen gave an update from the Engineering department on the Mineral Mining questions, Engineering department will be sending a response to the companies.

The Commission discussed the Easter Egg Extravaganza, they we concerned with how it turned out, and offered suggestions for future years.

There will not be a Commission/Staff meeting in May due to May 18^th at 6:30 pm being the Community Relations Banquet.

Meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM.
