Board of Review - 2017

The 2017 March Board of Review (MBOR) is just around the corner.  Sometime in February every property owner in the City of Walker will receive their 2017 Assessment Change Notice.  This form tells you the estimate of what we feel your property is worth for the 2017 tax year.  If you do not agree with our value, you have every right to appeal that value to our MBOR.  To be successful with an appeal to the MBOR, it is recommended that you provide the Board with evidence to why you feel you are being over-valued:  documents from a recent sale; a recent appraisal (for valuation purposes, not for finance purposes); a list of similar home sales in your neighborhood; etc.  You can appeal two different ways: one is to call and schedule a 15 minute appointment with the Board or submit a letter appeal with our office.  The following is the schedule for our 2017 MBOR:

          Monday, March 13, 2017 - from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM (with a scheduled break for lunch)
          Tuesday, March 14, 2017 - from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM (with a scheduled break for dinner)
          Wednesday, March 15, 2017 - only if the first two days fill up
          Thursday, March 16, 2017 - 9:00 AM - the Board will meet to review letter appeals
